Westerville Central Music Boosters Scholarship
Information Coming Soon
The Westerville Central Music Booster Scholarship was established in 2005. The purpose of the scholarship is to provide financial assistance to students who are pursuing a post-secondary education who have been involved in music program(s) while attending Westerville Central and have given back to the community through leadership and/or volunteering. Since music education helps to shape the brain and strengthen neural connections, the Boosters would like to support students who have taken advantage of these classes while at Westerville Central. Two $500 scholarships will be awarded to help cover any post-secondary education costs.
Senior students are to complete the District’s Common Scholarship Application along with providing a resume showcasing their involvement with music, leadership and volunteering and writing an essay based on how music has played a role in their lives along with how it will be involved in their future. Applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 overall with a 3.5 GPA in all music courses.
Applications will be reviewed by the Scholarship committee. Scores are based on applicants’ involvement with Music Classes, Participation in Music Ensembles, Overall Leadership, Post-Secondary Major/Minor, Music related activities in post-secondary, Volunteer Work/Community Service, Extracurricular Activities, Letter of Recommendation, and Essay. Scholarship will be awarded at the end of season concert and at Evening of Excellence.
Please complete BOTH applications below – the WCMB Scholarship Application, as well as the Westerville School District Scholarship Application (will be posted on the district site soon), and return them to your Westerville Central HS Guidance Counselor.
